Unfortunately, this shop has been one of Tokyo's best kept secrets for too long, but, not anymore. Canterolle, which is located in the front section of the Pororoco supermarket in Ichigaya, produces some of the best bread available anywhere in Tokyo. The kraftkorn brot, a dark full-corn rye bread comes in two sizes, a full round loaf and a half-loaf, and the taste and texture are outstanding. As well as French and German style breads, it serves sandwiches and a selection of bakery goodies that include curry and cheese pasties as well as cakes and tarts.
