Coming of Age Day, or Seijin no Hi, is a glorious photo opportunity. This day is dedicated to all those who celebrate their 20th birthday celebrated the second Monday of every year. Most of the young girls will be dressed in stunning formal kimonos, and everywhere you go you will see groups of young people going to or from the day's ceremonies. Meiji Jingu is the perfect place to start as it is also located close to Harajuku and Shibuya, the Mecca for young Japanese. Admission is free.
