Part of Daidai's appeal lies in the fact that it serves Tokyo-style kaiseki (traditional Japanese haute cuisine), something which like many Japanese traditions is gradually fading. A lot of Japanese who are too busy to travel and enjoy a traditional course meal served at hot springs or ryokans will often come here instead.
