The onsen (spa) community of Sekigane has a quaint atmosphere and is not extensively commercialized. This deluxe hotel offers guests a choice of Western or Japanese-style rooms. The separate men's and women's hot spring bathing facilities consist of indoor baths made of smooth white stone and two landscaped, open-air baths. The clear thermal water has been called platinum water because of its rare benefits. The water is classified as radioactive and contains traces of radium. It is good for gout, skin problems, arthritic joints, neuralgia, nervous disorders and diabetes. When imbibed it treats chronic digestive problems, gallstones and fatigue.
