This is the annex of the very upscale, traditional Japanese eatery Kamakura, which has been open for more than 40 years. This place may look daunting, but the prices are not much worse than those of your typical Japanese izakaya (tavern). The recommended course is a mere JPY4,500, very inexpensive by kaiseki standards, but the taste and presentation are of very high quality. Not only that, the annex has been opened so that chef Matsumura can have more freedom from traditional kaiseki styles. He experiments deliciously with Italian, Korean, and French cooking as well.
