The name of this restaurant comes from an old Japanese legend about a rabbit being seen making mochi (pounded rice) in the moon. It's a nice, non-conformist kind of place fronted by a tori gate shaped entrance, its interior filled by furniture of all different shapes and sizes. They serve Japanese food like kushiyaki (skewered meat and vegetables), sashimi, and some delicious homemade peach wine. The presentation is quirky and includes dishes like devilled eggs fixed in rabbit form and topped with a dash of wasabi. Last orders taken at 1am.
