As with so many of the martial arts, there is a spiritual as well as a physical element. Shorinji Kenpo is a combination of philosophy and martial art. On the martial art side of the equation, a boxing style is assumed. On the other side, parts of zen philosophy are brought into play. Force is not the name of the game with kenpo, harmony is.
