Yamanekoken shares a building with one of Tokyo's best art house movie theatres, and often the directors and actors from the films can be spotted there for screening parties and mini film festivals. It is a wonderful place to go for a meal after a double feature of classic Japanese films, by directors such as Ozu. Dinner courses start from JPY3,000 up and include, salad, soup, a main dish, dessert and coffee. The interior is mostly wood, with plants and a ceiling which opens automatically into a skylight for a cheerful ambience.
